New NBB of C President, Ladipo promises new era for boxing

The newly elected  President of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C) Rafiu Ladipo, has promised to evolve a new era in boxing in Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports  that Ladipo emerged President at an election held at the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos on Sunday in Lagos.

Ladipo secure 20 votes to defeat Ademola Omotoso who had only two votes.

In his inaugural address, Ladipo said he will work assiduously to reposition boxing in Nigeria.

“I will work to reposition boxing in Nigeria. I will seek for sponsorships for boxing championships. We appreciate GOTV for sponsoring one but we will seek for more sponsors.

“We will also try to bring the new world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua to Nigeria to inspire our talented young boxers.

“Boxing in Nigeria will return to its glory days,’’ he said.
