- FG to auction 2 slots of 5G Spectrum on Dec. 13
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has again allayed fears of Nigerians regarding the deployment of the fifth Generational technology popularly known as 5G mobile and admonished Nigerians to embrace it.
NCC Vice-Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta, said contrary to widespread belief that the 5G moblie technology has health implications; the technology has no negative health implications, and has been certified beneficial to human by advanced nations.
Professor Danbatta stated this Thursday at a public lecture titled “5G Mobile Technology: Myths, Realities, Potentials and Challenges” organised by Kwara State University (KWASU) Malete, held in Ilorin, the state capital.
The NCC boss, who was represented by a Director in the commission, Engr Toyin Asaju, said the benefits of adopting the new technology far outweighs the myths being peddled around it.
“It has nothing to do with our health. It can reduce over head cost by 50 per cent,” Danbatta declared.
He also disclosed that the NCC is set to auction two slots of spectrum for the deployment of the Fifth Generation (5G) technology on Dec. 13, 2021.
