National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, says it received over one point seven million cases of complaints in the year 2021 saying all the complaints were considered, some concluded, others referred while the remaining ongoing depending on the nature of complaints.
The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC chief Tony Ojukwu (SAN) who stated this in Ilorin said the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC dealing with the population of estimated 200 million Nigerians is doing all it can to achieve the primary goal of the commission.
Represented by Harry Obe Director of women and children in the commission during a two-day training on mainstreaming human rights into law enforcement in Nigeria, the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC says the training organized for officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force seeks extensive interaction on policing and how it relates to human rights.
National Human Rights Commission, NHRC also says the training became imperative to mainstream human right principle into policing in Nigeria informed by the need to progressively gate law enforcement officers to understand why their work is important .
