Monarch Warns On Effects Of Academic Staff Union of Universities Strike

The traditional ruler of Ihim community in Isiala Mbano Council Area in Imo State, Eze Oliver Ohanwe, has warned that the lingering crisis between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the federal government might seal the fate of both rising and future generations in the country.

Oliver, who is also an educationist and the chairman of the Governing Council of the Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu College of Education, Ihitte/Uboma in Imo State, called for a fresh discussion between the two parties for speedy resolution of the impasse.

It could be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of universities embarked on strike on the 14th of February, 2022, and as at the time of writing this report, a resolution has not been met between both parties.
