Minister of Finance says Petrol Subsidy Costs Eighteen Point Three Nine Billion Naira Daily

The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, has put the projected daily payment for fuel subsidy at 18.3 billion naira.

She stated this during an investigative hearing of the House ad hoc committee which is investigating the petroleum subsidy regime between 2017 to 2021.

Mrs.  Ahmed added that the information showed that sixty four point nine six million litres of fuel is the projected average daily truck out.

According to the Minister, this was calculated using the information provided by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and the regulator.

The Chairman of the ad hoc committee, Ibrahim Aliyu, stated that the committee was constituted to investigate the subsidy regime.
