As Muslims celebrate the birth of Fatima al-Zahra worldwide, mothers and the female folks at large have been admonished to inculcate the exemplary virtues of the daughter of Prophet Mohammed who remains a model for a worthy life.
The call was made on Sunday at an event organized by Madinat-ul-‘Ilm Academy, women wing, to mark the day in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The guest speaker, Hajia Muslimat Berende Sherif, who spoke on the topic: “Managing home and emotion in crisis situation; a case study of Hazrat Fatimah (AS), appealed to women both young and old to always be in control of their emotions no matter the situation.
Although, she acknowledged the frustration that comes with stress as women at home, Hajia Muslimat Berende Sherif said there’s always a heavenly reward for women who will always ensure peace no matter the hardship.
The speaker also admonished the female folks to always show understanding and contentment in relation to the financial capacity of their husbands just as Fatima al-Zahra in her home.
She noted that it is better to seek God’s intervention and professional counseling in times of challenges, rather than ill advice from bad friends who take advantage of challenges to break homes.
One of the organizers, Mrs Shittu Alima Iyabo-Bola, said the event put together by Madinat-ul-‘Ilm Academy, was to again extol the virtues of Fatimah al-Zahra who stood out as a daughter, wife, mother, and religious figure.
She called on all especially women to exemplify her so as to live a fulfilled life here and hereafter.
Mrs Iyabo-Bola said the significance of the event was to discuss the challenges confronting mothers and young ladies in matrimonial homes these days and how to handle such, with regards to Fatimah’s way of life.
The event witnessed recitation of the Holy Quran and Interlude to include songs, poems and Quran interpretation.
Also present at the well attended event were Alhaja Rashidat Akaje, Hajia Fasilat Jumoke Berende (Chief Host) and Hajia Rukayat Salman Pekan.
Others are Sheikh Is-haq Salman Pekan and Engr. Zubair Oloruntoyin.
