Lions Club Holds Diabetes Awareness Campaign, Free Test
As part of its corporate social responsibility, the International Association of Lions Clubs, Kwara/Oyo Axis Friday embarked on a Diabetes Awareness march to bring to fore the dangers of diabetes, the need for people to know their medical status and subsequently manage it.
The awareness road walk started from Unity Roundabout up to the busy Taiwo-Oke area.
Kwara/Oyo Axis Diabetes Awareness and Action Technical Committee in collaboration with Ilorin Royal Lions Club said that the awareness campaign will be followed by free screening and testing tomorrow Saturday, as from 7:30am at the General Hospital Ilorin opposite Queen School.
Speaking during the campaign, the axis coordinator, Lion Oluwakayode Jegede, said the service is part of the international organisation’s humanitarian service to the public.
Also speaking, President, Ilorin Royal Lions Club, Lion Juliet Halawani stated that members of the public are free to visit the venue to get tested and know their medical status.
