Kwara pays N60m counterpart fund

In a project that would help attract development to rural areas, the kwara state governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, yesterday has approved the payment of sixty million naira counterpart funds to key into the World Bank-funded Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP).

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, would enable Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency access over one billion naira to implement micro projects in various communities that express interest.

Ajakayi further stated that the beneficial community development Association, would pay ten per cent of the project cost implemented in the community, adding that each community that participated in the scheme could benefit up to ten million naira project in the areas of health, education, water supply, environment, infrastructure, and gender/vulnerable group project empowerment.

The Secretary added that vulnerable and physically challenged people also have to benefit from micro-projects to be implemented through access to funds.
