The Kwara state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Alhaji Muritala saheed Olayinka has called on the incoming administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to as a matter of urgency create a vibrant economic team and sound policy that improve the economy of the nation.
Speaking on Royal FM current affair programme tagged Vocal point, the NLC chairman said Nigeria is far back when comparing her naira purchasing power to dollar.
On minimum wages, Alhaji Olayinka noted that the incoming president should change their policy making system by engaging a vibrant economic team that will transform the economy.
While noting that high minimum wage is not the issue but sound economic policy, Alhaji Olayinka noted that although the thirty thousand naira minimum cannot take care of the workers in Nigeria. He called for better improvement of minimum wage in line with adequate purchasing power.
As monitored by our correspondent, olarotimi oshin, the NLC chairman denied the insinuation that labor unions are now for and in support of the government saying NLC is for the citizens.
