The Kwara State Government has concluded arrangements to introduce Education Management Information System in all schools and tertiary institutions across the state.
The project when fully implemented will provide results and monitoring of education programmes enabling delivery of high quality education in a timely and cost effective manner.
The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Bilikisu Oniyangi disclosed this in Ilorin, the state capital while speaking with journalists. According to her, with the online device, every teacher across the state would be monitored directly from her office at the headquarters of the Ministry.
Similarly, she said the salary each teacher earns and deductions made on monthly basis would be ascertained and corrected where errors are detected. She also said students enrolment would be monitored while the issue of miracle centers would become a thing of the past in the state.
Oniyangi disclosed that an incentive of one hundred thousand dollars has been set aside by the World Bank through the Federal Ministry of Education for states that embark on the project and announced that Kwara state is leading in this direction. The commissioner therefore appealed to the incoming government to key into the project to ensure its full implementation and actualization.
