Kwara FRSC dispatches 950 personnel for Eid-el-Fitri

In preparation for a hitch free Eid-el-Fitri celebration, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Kwara State Command has deployed 950 personnel across the state.

Those dispatched include 322 special marshals, 27 patrol vehicles, two power bike, four Ambulances and a 70 tonne tow-truck to monitor all roads during the festivities.

The Public Education Officer of the state sector command of FRSC, Basambo Olayinka Busari, said in a statement that the state sector Commander of the corps, Fredrick Ade Ogidan, deployed personnel for traffic control at strategic locations within Ilorin township and major cities in the state during the Eid-El-Fitri special patrol scheduled from 20th to 25th April 2023.

The statement quoted the Sector Commander to have enjoined the motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations and avoid excessive speeding, overloading, obstruction, use of phone while driving, passenger manifest violation, operation Of mechanical deficiency and rickety vehicles, lane discipline /route violation among others.

It noted that the heavy tow-truck, ambulances and rescue marshals will be stationed along major highways within the state in order to achieve free flow of traffic and reduction in road traffic crash during the festivities.

While wishing the people of the state happy Eid-El-Fitri celebration, the sector commander advised the motorists to exercise caution and drive towards safer roads and fuller lives.
