Kwara Commissioner Advocates Clean Environment 

Residents of Ilorin metropolis have been charged to intensify efforts in maintaining proper hygienic environments to promote healthy living.

The Kwara State Commissioner of Environment, Mrs Funke Julianah Oyedun gave the charge during her general inspection to some areas in Ilorin metropolis.

Oyedun while inspecting the areas   where there were blocked drainages due to refuse dumped into them urged the residents to note that having clean environment was a collective efforts and not the responsibility of the state government alone.

“Do not leave everything to the Government to do for you; Government cannot help you clear your drainages, it is the duty of every citizen to clean his or her  surroundings and for the betterment of your health,”she said.

The Commissioner, however, commended some residents in some areas where proper cleanliness was observed and urged them to continue with the good gesture and not relent as this adds to the success of the present administration.

The Commissioner reminded the people of the state of the monthly sanitation exercise which should be paramount in their various areas..

Areas inspected includes upper Ibrahim Taiwo, Sango,Basin,Baboko, Adeta roundabout
Others were Alore, Okelele,Tanke among others.

The Commissioner of Environment, Mrs Funke Oyedun visited the areas in company of the Director of Environment, Mr Ajide Sunday.
