A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Kwara State, and former leader, Kwara State House of Assembly in the second republic, Chief Wole Oke has charged the state Governor-elect, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq and other elected officials to hit the ground running as soon as they assume office.
In a statement issued today and personally signed by him, Chief Oke said the incoming APC government, having enjoyed the vote of the people during election must ensure it lives up to expectations and sensitive to the cry and request of the electorate.
Chief Oke, who is also the Jagunmolu of Shao, urged the governor-elect to prioritize the availability of portable water and access to good health facilities in every town and village of the state as well as provide profitable employment for the youth. He counseled Abdulrasaq to surround himself with the right people, saying this will greatly determine the character and success of his government .
While urging the people of Kwara state to keep hope alive and give the government the necessary support, Chief Oke expressed confidence that this government is determined to run a successful administration within the limit of the available financial resources.
He expressed hope that with the success that the governor-elect has recorded in the private sector as well as his international business connections, foreign investors will find Kwara state their preferred destination in Nigeria.
