…security issues must be a collective effort
Kwara State Deputy Speaker and the Honourable member representing Oke-Ero constituency, Rt Hon Raphael Adetiba-Olanrewaju has commended the efforts of Odo-Owa community youth and the security agency towards the arrest of kidnappers in the community.
The youths who fall in the category of Professional hunters, and vigilante group and the security agency were appreciated by the Lawmaker for their swift action, courage and sacrifice by bursting the kidnappers camp.
“I salute the courageous youths on the great mission because it is not an easy task. This is what we are encouraging our people to keep doing on the issue of insecurity, whereby information will be provided to our security agencies to act on,” Adetiba said.
The Deputy Speaker further appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his quick response in deploying security men into the area.
“I need to also appreciate the great effort of our security agencies, highly commendable, we always count on them and they never disappoint us,”
Adetiba, however, charged Kwarans to be cautious and watchful of strange faces and suspicious activities in their environment.
“Security issues must be a collective effort. As it is the responsibility of the government, so it is the responsibility of the citizens. So if any suspicious activity is noticed in our environment, we should report such to the nearest police post,” he said.
