The Kano State Government has confirmed one hundred and eighty-nine Cholera cases, five casualties and one hundred and eighty-four recoveries.
Speaking to journalists in the state, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aminu Tsanyawa stated that a case of watery diarrhoea and vomiting was first reported in the Dambatta Local Government area on April 16, 2022.
Since then, he revealed that the state has recorded one hundred and eighty-nine cases in twenty Local Government Areas, of which one hundred and eighty-four have fully recovered and five deaths were recorded.
Aminu added that Nigeria is affected with Cholera outbreak due to the rainy season, poor personal, environmental hygiene sanitation, poor waste management and open defecation.
