Journalists seek redeployment of Commissioner of Police in Osun

Following the shooting of the Correspondent of The Nation newspaper, Toba Adedeji in Osun State, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Chapter has demanded the redeployment of the Commissioner of Police in the state

According to the chairman of the union, Wasiu Ajadosu the redeployment of the commissioner of police becomes a necessity due to the lack of confidence in the Police Force.

Other journalists who challenged the police after rushing the victim to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital where he is receiving treatment claimed that the security operatives denied the incident, adding that they were only shooting tear gas.

It is recalled that Adedeji was reportedly shot while covering a protest by some youths over the police brutality of one Abiola Afolabi who was allegedly killed by security operatives last month.
