Independent National Electoral Commission charges Nigerians on voter cards registration, collection, says all is set for 2023 general election

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC said all is now set for the commission to conduct credible election in the 2023 general election but noting that Nigerians are used to rush hour registration,  lamenting that Nigerians will still claim two month extension for registration for voters card is not enough.

Speaking on a Royal FM current affairs programme ” speak Now 9ja” the head of department , general administration and procurement of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC kogi state,  Barrister Jacob Ayanda said a lot of Nigerians have gone to relax immediately they heard the news of registration extension.

He however called on Nigerians to take advantage of the two months registration extension to get their permanent Voter card PVC in order to enable them carry out their civic responsibility.

He added that Ekiti and Osun elections are meant to showcase the preparedness of INEC , adding that INEC is currently carrying out training and retraining of staff ahead of the general election.

Speaking on independence , Ayanda said INEC now stands on its own and can carry out its policy without government interference from any quarter , noting that the electoral act has empowered INEC to function as expected .

He said a lot of new technologies have been put in place in order to make the election credible, saying the result will be more acceptable than in the past.
