House of reps approves 35 percent affirmative action for women

The House of Representatives today during it’s session approved 35 percent affirmative action for women.

The Senate during it’s constitution review did not approve the 35 percent affirmative action for ministers when it voted on Wednesday.

The lower chamber however gave it above the required 240 votes on Thursday.

The amendment seeks to alter the 1999 constitution to ” set a time frame within which the president or a governor shall forward to the senate or state house of assembly names of nominees for confirmation as ministers or commissioners; provide for attachment of portfolio and thirty-five percent affirmative action for women.”
