The Senior Staff Association of Universities, Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes and Associated Institutions (SSAUTHRIAI), has called on the Federal Government to implement the approved hazard allowance for health workers with immediate effect.
The association, made the call in a communiqué issued at the end of its Two-Day Meeting of Teaching/Specialist Hospitals and Federal Medical Centers held at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu, the Enugu state capital.
The health organization, in a communique signed by the Acting Sector Chairman, Comrade Kabir Mustapha, and the Secretary, Comrade Joseph Ugwoke, expressed displeasure over the failure of the federal government to implement the payment of the new hazard allowance since December 2021.
On the adjustment of consolidated health salary structure (CONHESS), the group urged Federal Government to implement the 2017 agreement on adjustment of CONHESS Salary Structure.
Meanwhile, other calls by the health body include payment of promotion arrears, the COVID- 19 special inducement allowance, inclusion of retirees in the National Health Insurance (NHIA) Scheme, improved welfare and condition of service of its members, as well as the state of the nation, among others.
