Group to Kwarans: Don’t return us to dark era of PDP

A political support group, AA Kwara Youth Wing Campaign has cautioned the people of Kwara State to be wary of the campaign of calumny of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

It described the forthcoming gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections as a revolution between the anti-youth government of PDP and youth-friendly government of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which Governor AbdulRazaq represents.

The convener of the group, Ambassador Ilyas Shola Akanbi, said this today while declaring open 100 Percent Youth Wing Conference of the group held in Ilorin.

Speaking at the conference themed “With Governor AbdulRazaq, our future is secure”, Akanbi explained that residents of the state are aware of the progress attained in the last three and a half years in terms of infrastructure in all spheres of governance, adding that the rebuilding effort of the present administration is an indication that today is far better than the past.

He maintained that Governor AbdulRazaq, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the APC, deserves to return for another term of office because he is an Ambassador of youth and women, who prioritizes inclusive governance and prosperous Kwara.

Akanbi alleged that the PDP and its apologists were only out to take the state back to the dark era in its bid to perpetually sacrifice the future of the state on the altar of political servitude.

The youth ambassador urged his contemporaries in the state to be proactive in engagement across political associations with a view to promoting the stewardship of Governor AbdulRazaq.

Akanbi added that youth would have to re-energize themselves and participate in the electoral process that would eventually return the youth and women’s inclusive Governor in Saturday’s polls.

The convener noted that unlike in the past, political space in Kwara has been freed and now allowed youth and individuals with political interest to aspire without hindrance.

Also speaking, the Secretary, APC Presidential Campaign Council, North Central, Nafisat Buge, stated that the emergence of Governor AbdulRazaq was a watershed for women and younger generation, adding that his passion for women and youth was unrivalled.

She added that the appointment of youth into sensitive positions and public offices signposted hope and assurance for a secure and brighter future.

Similarly, a member of the state Sports Commission, Abdullahi Yunusa Lade, informed that Governor AbdulRazaq had invested in critical infrastructure in education, health and sports, adding that it would be appropriate to return him in the gubernatorial election.

The Liaison Officer to Kwara North Senator for (Edu/Patigi) local government areas, Muhammed Ibrahim Gagara, said the people of his senatorial district have not had it so historic until Governor AbdulRazaq came on board.

One of the participants at the conference, Miss Olanrewaju Ganiyat Omodolapo, said governance is not measured through money sharing but in the area of social amenities.

She observed that the performance of the incumbent Governor and gubernatorial candidate of the APC outweighed his predecessors, urging eligible voters to troop out and cast their ballots for him
