Group express concern over poor performance of Kwara public schools students in West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination

The Kwara Likeminds Front, KLF, a political pressure group has expressed concern over the poor performance of students in Kwara state public schools in the last West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.

Kwara State ranked 34th among the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal capital territory, Abuja.

In a statement signed by the Convener of KLF,  Maxwell Kolawole made available to Royal Times ,the group said it is worrisome because the performance is a setback from previous performance and is coming at a time the present government claims to have invested largely in education.

KLF said one of the root causes could be the dearth of teachers in schools, citing Saint Anthony’s Secondary school as a perfect example of a model school lacking human and material resources to enhance academic performance.

KLF therefore asked the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration to address the ugly development as schools prepare for resumption, so as to restore the academic glory of Kwara State.
