As Kwara state marks it fiftieth year of existence, a former Governorship aspirant of the state under the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Engineer Sunday Babalola has drummed support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in its fight against corruption, saying the anticorruption fight should be holistic.
Babalola made the call at the Golden Jubilee lecture entitled ‘Kwara State @50, the journey thus far!” held in Ilorin. He said the corruption charges against the senate president Doctor Bukola Saraki is not a surprise but a holistic fight against corruption.
While calling on the presidency to change its tactic in fighting corruption, Babalola advocated operation “Return the money and there will be no case” noting that the system will relief to the court as it will make corruption fight easier. He wished the president quick recovery.
Speaking on Kwara state, Babalola, who was represented by John Adegboye commended the regimes of Chief Bamigboye and George Ini who according to him made progress. He advised kwarans on leadership selection, saying leaders should not be selected based on religion or tribe but on commitment and people-oriented leadership.
