Outgoing Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, has urged the Incoming-Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi to stop spreading falsehood about him or the finances of his administration.
Fayose, in a statement issued today by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, also described as mere fabrication, the claim that his government had accumulated a debt of one hundred and seventeen billion naira as against the eighteen billion naira it inherited. Fayose insists that the state was indebted to the tune of eighty-six billion naira as at October 2014 that he took over from Fayemi.
Exactly thirty-five days to his leaving office, Fayose, said his handover note is ready for the scrutiny of people making enquiries about his government. It would be recalled that the governor did not cooperate with the Transition Committee set up by Fayemi, describing it as illegal.
Fayose insisted that his government has no obligation to relate with any illegal committee, stating that the governor-elect should wait for the handing over note. The governor counselled Fayemi to face the task of “defending the mandate that he stole and his fraudulent emergence as the APC candidate instead of treading the usual path of deceiving the public to cover up his failure”,
