Gambari Youths Organise Qu’ranic Competition In Honour Of Late KWASU VC, Akanbi

The Balogun Gambari Youth Movement, a Non Governmental Youth Organisation from Gambari District of Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State has organised Qur’anic Competition in honour of the late Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), late Prof. Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN.

The competition held at Amule Government Day Secondary School, Okelele, Ilorin, on Sunday (April 16, 2023), featured participants from four wards that made up the Gambari District.

However, Ahmad Abdul Roqeeb from Ibagun ward came tops in the first category of the competition (4 Hizb), while Yusuf Abdulqudus also from Ibagun ward emerged winner in the second category of the (2 Hizb) of the competition.

In the fisrt category, Muhammed AbdulAzeez from Zango ward came 2nd, Sulayman Aisha from Gambari II came 3rd and the 4th position went to Izzudeen Fayyad from Gambari I ward.

In the second category (2 Hizb), Muhammad Abdulhameed from Zango ward came second, Sulyman Rayhanah from Gambari II came 3rd while Imam Yahya from Gambari I ward took 4th position.

Speaking at the event, the Acting  Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Prof Shaykh Luqman Jimoh commended the organisers for deeming it fit to organise such a rewarding programme in honour of late Prof. Akanbi.
