The United States ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power has said the US Embassy will assist Nigeria in finding a lasting solution to the issue of fuel scarcity which has lingered for months across the country.
Speaking with news reporters on Thursday during her visit to Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Power said the US Embassy would offer Nigeria technical advice, counsel and technical assistance.
She said: “Just last night when I was coming from the airport, I saw long lines at petrol stations here in Nigeria, and I really feel for the people of this country, who are going through this difficult economic time.”
“And the embassy has promised to offer whatever technical advice, counsel and technical assistance”
“We know that some of the best minds in Nigeria are thinking about that, including the ministers in this government.”
