Fuel Scarcity: pupils, students stranded in Ilorin

As Fuel scarcity continues to bite harder in Kwara state and Nigeria at large , parents have lamented the stress faced in taking their children to school.

Many parents and students among other residents who spoke with RoyalFM expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration, saying the pain on many Nigerians is on the high side.

Students now resume between 9am and 10am as against 8am due to the fuel scarcity facing the nation.  As reported by our correspondent Olarotimi Oshin, many children are off school due to scarcity of commercial cars as a result of fuel scarcity.

RoyalFM reports that the fuel scarcity is becoming unbearable, as motorists continue to queue for petrol endlessly. It added that motorcycle operators popularly called okada now charge about 100 per drop as residents continue to lament challenges faced.

A parent , Mr. Michael Aderogba said that he had been on the queue in about four filling stations but unable to get fuel even at N380 per litre  for more than an hour without any hope of leaving soon.

Mrs Aishat , a parent with two school children bemoaned the situation, saying, the children will have to stay out of school as a result of money spent daily on transport
