Former NFA Spokesman, Austin Mgbolu, has died

Former spokesperson of the Nigeria Football Association, Austin Mgbolu, has died.

Mgbolu died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

Family sources say he had a major surgery in January and seemed to have been recuperating well.

He however suffered complications yesterday morning which forced his family members to rush him to the hospital.

He later died in the hospital. His death comes months after he buried his mother.

Austin until his death was a senior staffer of the Niger Delta Ministry in Abuja where he worked after serving under five past Presidents of the Nigeria Football Association: Emeka Omeruah (1993 – 1997), Abdulmumini Aminu (1997 – 1999), Anthony Kodjo Williams (1999), Dominic Oneya (1999 – 2002) and Ibrahim Galadima (2002 – 2006).
