Force Headquarter warns against spreading unofficial results

The Police have warned against the circulation of unofficial results of last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election.

Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement that Citizens should only rely on authentic results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and described some of the results being shared on social media as disinformation.

According to him, the Police have perceived this trend as a calculated attempt to heat up the polity and possibly create post-elections chaos.

Adejobi urged Nigerians to remain calm and go about their lawful engagements.

The police spokesman said the Force has reinforced security strategies for the smooth conclusion of the 2023 general elections.
