Following the accident to the convoy of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, some Nigerian youths have threatened to shut down the economy if anything happens to him.
The former president on Thursday mourned the death of two security aides who lost their lives during the accident which occurred within the vicinity of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
Reacting to the news of the accident, the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, in a statement by its National President, Peter Timothy Igbifa called on security agencies to probe the incident and make public the circumstances that led to the accident.
He alleged that the accident was a premeditated attempt by some conspirators to end the life of the former president ahead of the 2023 general elections, adding that the entire Ijaw nation would react in an unprecedented revolution if anything happened to Jonathan.
In his remark, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Abuja, Samuel Ogar said a full-scale investigation had been launched into the accident, adding that the convoy was moving on a particular speed that made it possible for the driver to lose control.
