Floods Wash Away Five Hundred Corpses In Niger

Floods Wash Away Five Hundred Corpses In Niger

People of Mariga town of Bariga Local Government Area, Niger state are searching for more than five hundred buried corpses suspected to have been washed away by Floods.

This was disclosed by the Chief Imam of Mariga Central Mosque, Alhaji Alhassan Na’ibi while speaking to journalists on Tuesday.

He said the residents of the community are searching for over five hundred corpses buried in a cemetery in Mariga town, adding that the community was in total confusion as it had to relocate about one hundred other corpses from the cemetery to another burial ground to curb the happening.

The Chief Imam, who attributed the problem to activities of illegal miners near the graveyards, lamented that they have never experienced such a situation in over sixty years of the cemetery.
