About seven persons have lost their lives to flood disasters in different parts of Kwara State in 2022.
Managing Director, Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission, HYPPADEC, Abubakar Yelwa, disclosed this on Sunday in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
He identified riverine communities in Patigi as the worst hit by the disaster. He further revealed that large hectares of farmlands and houses were also submerged in Patigi.
According to Abubakar, one thousand three hundred households and two thousand, eight hundred persons were affected in the flood disaster.
