FG needs N47bn for meningitis vaccines  – Minister of health

The Federal Government said it requires N46.7bn to vaccinate the population against the Type C meningitis.

Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole while briefing the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting stated this on Thursday.

He said there had been 9,646 suspected cases of meningitis in Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, Niger, Kebbi and Kano States.

The minister called for the establishment of National Health Emergency Fund to be domiciled in the Presidency under the supervision of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
