Female teacher arrested for sexually assaulting 4-year-old pupil

The police in Borno have arrested a female teacher simply identified as Aunty Zara for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old pupil in Maiduguri.

The spokesman of the police command, ASP Sani KAMILU, confirmed the arrest to reporters on saturday in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Mr. Kamilu said the suspect, a teacher at a private school in Maiduguri, was apprehended last week, and added that the command had commenced investigation into the case.

According to him, upon completion of investigation, the case will be referred to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for next line of action.

The victim’s father named Hassan Dala who reported the case to the police, said he noticed that his daughter excreted a reddish substance which led to a doctor’s investigation that led to the discovery of sexual abuse being perpetrated by the said teacher.
