Federal Government urges students to apply for United Kingdom scholarships

Amid the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU,the Federal Government through the National Universities Commission has called on qualified Nigerians to apply for the Chevening scholarships, an initiative of the government of the United Kingdom.

This was contained in a letter signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary, Administration of the National Universities Commission, Chris Maiyaki, and addressed to all vice-chancellors.

The commission said the British High Commission has announced the call for applications for the Chevening Scholarships to study in the United Kingdom, which opened on 2nd August 2022 and closes on 1 November 2022.

Chris added that the Letter is forwarded to Vice-Chancellors, for urgent attention and wide circulation in their various universities, urging interested individuals to submit their applications via www.chevening.org/apply.
