Following the increase in the price of petrol witnessed among fuel stations, the Federal Government of Nigeria has denied the removed subsidies on the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
Speaking with Journalist, the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva said the government is still subsidizing and has not deregulated the price of petrol.
He, however, hinted that the increased price notice across the nation is probably from the marketers, noting that the government will speak to the authorities to regulate the price.
Reacting to the queues noticed across fuel stations, the Petroleum Minister disclosed that the government is working to ensure the queues end.
It is recalled that in recent week the pump price of petroleum has increased from one hundred and sixty-five naira per litre to one hundred sixty-nine naira, one hundred and eighty-four naira, two hundred and eighteen naira per liter depending on the area in the country.
