A former Minister of State for Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulow was on Wednesday kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Igbogila road in Yewa North local government area of Ogun state.
Anisulowo, who was a Senator between 2003 and 2007, was reportedly abducted alongside her security aide, while she was returning from her farm.
The Ogun State Police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed her abduction, stating that she was kidnapped on Wednesday evening by armed gunmen.
He further said the State Commissioner of police, CP Abdulmajid Ali has despatched teams to rescue her and apprehend the perpetrators and also investigations on the kidnap had commenced.
