Ex-local government boss, others suspended for allegedly spreading fake report on Ekiti APC Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Opin Ward, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State has suspended the former Chairman of the local government,  Dele Abiodun, for allegedly spreading fake news that the local government party Chairman, Wale Awelewa, has been suspended from the party.

Abiodun was suspended alongside three others including Ayeni Alani Gabriel, Alayo Ajuba and Ibiloye Micheal.

They were said to have collected unverified signatures, which indicated that Awelewa had been suspended from the APC in Opin Ward of the local government area.

The party also passed a vote of confidence in the APC local government Chairman in managing the affairs of the party.

These were part of the resolutions at the party stakeholders’ meeting in Ikerin-Opin of Ekiti local government and had in attendance elders and leaders of the party.

The APC Chairman in Opin Ward,  Gabriel Fasikun, who presided over the meeting, said it was convened to clear the air on the purported suspension of the local government party Chairman, dissociating himself from the alleged plot.

Fasikun described the local government party Chairman as “unremovable and unshakable” with his good character in developing the party and the local government at large.
