Ex-Kwara Commissioner, Alege appointed member of National CIEPHM

The Chattered Institute of Environmental and Public Health Management has set-up 12 man-Commitee to comprehensively examine the remote and immediate causes of Corona Virus pandemic globally and locally.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Director General of Institute, Prince (Dr.) George Ayoade said any assertion/personal contributions must have scientific connotation emanating from published research work.

The statement said the Commitee set up to justify our position as a Public Health Institute of note, this is the time to showcase the stuff that we are made of by writing and submitting technical papers and submit same to Federal and State Governments.

The Commitee will examine the effects of Public Health measures adopted by various countries vis-a-vis Nigeria as regard control of the pandemic.

According to the statement, the Committee will recommend environmental/Public Health/safety measures that should be put in place by Federal and State Governments to prevent future re-occurence of Corona Virus and other epidemic diseases in Nigeria.

The Committee headed by Prof. Dora Akinboye, while Commodore (Dr.) Olufemi Olutoye as Vice Chairman other members are Prof. James H. Doughari, Dr. Adeleke Pitan and Dr. Ejogbamu Abirhire.

Dr. (Mrs.) Modupe Okoh will serve as Secretary other members are Dr. David Atamewalen, Dr. Suleiman Atolagbe Alege, Dr. Mohammed Saleh, Mr. Isaac M Kadala, Mr. Lawan K. Usman and Dr. Enehikhare Osawaru.

Dr. Suleiman Atolagbe Alege, is a former Commissioner for Health under the last administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed in Kwara State.

The statement said due to lockdown in some States and FCT, Committee Members are to put together their contributions from home.

The Commitee will present the clean and certified copies of the technical papers on Friday, May 15th, 2020 to the Honourable Minister of Health and Director General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
