Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has been released from a military hospital after spending six years in prison. His lawyer, Farib al-Deeb confirmed his release to the AFP.
He was accused of ordering the police to clash with protesters leading to the death of over 850 Egyptians during the 18-day revolt.
He was sentenced to life in 2012 in the case, but an appeals court ordered a retrial which dismissed the charges two years later.
A top appeals court cleared Mubarak earlier this month on charges of killing protesters in the 2011 uprising that ended his 30 year rule.
The former President reportedly went straight to his home in the northern suburb of Heliopolis.
