Everton has confirmed the signing of left-back Lucas Digne from Barcelona on a five-year deal for eighteen million pounds.
The twenty-five years old joined Barcelona from Paris St-Germain in 2016, and won La Liga and Ligue one titles with his former clubs. He has twenty-one international caps for France and was on standby for the World Cup winners earlier this summer.
Digne said that he wants to play games with a club as great as Everton. He further said that he is not afraid but excited as it is a new challenge to be with a new country and a new league.
Digne, who also spent a year on loan at Roma, made forty-six appearances for Barcelona. He is new manager Marco Silva’s second major signing this summer following the arrival of Brazilian Richarlison from Watford.
