ESTG University drums support for Taufiq Isa, awards scholarship to 100 in Kogi West

ESTG University, known as Ecole Supierieure Technologie et De Gestion has supported the political ambition of Hon. Dr Taufiq Isa, populary called Jagaban, an alumnus of the institution as he emerged the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, for Ijimu Local Government of Kogi West LG election.

Hon. Dr Taufiq Isa is a graduate of ESTG University, one of the best ranked private universities in the Republic of Benin.

During a courtesy visit to Isa in Kogi State, the school registrar, Hon Igbalaye Ayodele Wasiu, who led delegates to the institution, said the institution has been in a joyful mood having heard the announcement that a former student will be contesting for a political office.

He said “as a private university which has the love of our students at heart, we have come to support, encourage and wish him the best of luck.”

Igbalaye pointed out that the school management have decided to support him by giving scholarship to 100 students in his constituency, posters for his campaign, bags for students and other valuable items to enhance his campaign.

He stressed that the reason is to encourage more of their students and youths out there who are doing well in their various endeavours to come out and represent their constituency across the country, noting that the youths are the leaders of today and not tomorrow as we formerly say.

Hon. Dr Taufiq Isa, who was a caretaker chairman in the local government for three years expressed his gratitude to ESTG for the surprise visit, and also for their support towards his aspiration.

“I am saying a big thank you to the founder of the school and all the representatives that are present here today, most expecially Hon. Igbalaye Ayodele Wasiu. I promise not to take this honor for granted”, Isa said.

INEC has fixed December 12, 2020 for the forthcoming Local Government Election in the State.
