#ENDSARS Protest: Kwara Gov acknowledges protesters petition, to inform FG

 

The kwara state governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has confirmed the receipt of the petition by Coalition of Concerned Kwarans dated October 8, 2020 over end SARS protest.

The petition was signed by 10 of the coalition’s members which was a follow up to a peaceful protest by the group on the same day of in Ilorin, the state capital.

He assured members of the coalition that their petition, along with their demands, would be communicated to the Federal Government and proper follow up made to address all the issues raised.

The governor who appreciated the grievances of the protesters, who are mostly young people commended them for their peaceful conduct, and sense of duty to their fatherland.

According to the governor , their peaceful conduct, despite the weight of the allegations raised in their petition, noting that their peaceful protest shows their maturity.

He added that conduct aligns with the spirit of harmony that our state is known for.

The governor explained that his administration will continue to engage the police authorities in state to urgently investigate specific allegations for appropriate redress and sanctions.

He noted that public safety, fairness and justice to all are the essence of good governance and the role of good policing is absolutely critical to the mix.

He urged youths to continue to be law abiding in all that they do with the assurance that our administration would always uphold justice, and fairness.
