The management of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, has dismissed rumours that the institution was planning to downsize its workforce.
The Vice chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun, made the clarification on Monday during a press conference to herald the 27th convocation ceremony of the institution.
Prof. Olanipekun said that there was no intention to retrench workers even amid paucity of fund, noted that the university rather retrenching staff, the management would strengthen the existing workforce for better service delivery.
The VC added that the allegation was the handiwork of mischief makers and some individuals who are bent on inciting staff against the management for their own self-interest.
