Eid Kabir: Police in Kwara Urge Residents To Be Vigilant, Beef Up Security

Kwara State Police Command had congratulated Muslim faithfuls and indeed the good people of Kwara State on the upcoming Eid-Kabir celebrations.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Command’s Spokesman, SP Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin.

According to the police ,  as much as the period is for merry making and offering of thanks to Allah, everyone  should be always mindful of the activities of the evil ones in our different societies. He called on everyone to be vigilant and security conscious.

In view of the prevailing security concerns in the country, Okasanmi said the Commissioner of Police Kwara State, Tuesday Assayomo  has emplaced formidable security plans across the length and breadth of the state, aimed at ensuring hitch- free Sallah and Durbar celebrations in Kwara state.

According to the commissioner,  all the special forces available to the command like the K9, Mounted troop, Explosive Ordinance Department, Counter Terrorist Unit, Special Tactical section and conventional police men have been fully briefed and motivated to take up their respective policing roles perfectly before, during and after the Sallah festivities.

He noted that the command is not unmindful of the fear in the minds of some people arising from happenings generally in the country in recent times,  hence serious proactive efforts according to the police have been put in place to build the confidence of the people in the ability of the police and other security agencies to ensure that the celebrations are robust but hitch- free.

While congratulating the people of Kwara state once again on this year’s Eid Kabir celebration, the CP called on residents to make relevant information available to the command through the following specially provided phone numbers. 08125275046/ 07032069501
