EFCC reportedly freezes Ex-SGF Babachir Lawal’s accounts

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen the bank accounts for the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal, Punch reports.

The EFCC had on Wednesday detained the ex-SGF after he arrived at the commission’s Abuja office.

President Muhammadu Buhari had in October sacked Lawal after a panel led by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo investigated the former SGF over alleged irregularities in Presidential Initiative on North-East (PINE) activities.
