Department of State Services Pledges Collaboration with Security Agencies for May 29 events

The Department of State Services has pledged to work with other security agencies to ensure the country is safe during the transition period.

In a statement today by the spokesperson for the Department of State Services, Peter Afunanya, the service said this was necessary as some elements are desperate to truncate the process.

The DSS made the statement after a joint operation with the Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police led to the arrest of a total of five terrorists in Kaduna and Kano states.

While the terrorists were said to have deployed Improvised Explosive Devices against operatives, the service said a terrorist with a suicide jacket was said to have blown himself up while three terrorists were arrested and two suicide jackets were recovered from them.
