Court orders temporary forfeiture of $50m discovered by EFCC

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the temporary foreiture of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from an apartment in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.

Justice Muslim Hassan in his ruling ordered the temporary forfeiture of the funds to the Federal Government.

He urged anyone who owns the money to come become him to proof why it should not be permanently forfeited.

He adjourned till May 5, 2017.
