Following a keenly contested election for the post of the number one Journalist In kwara state, comrade Umar Abdulwahab has been elected as the chairman of the Nigeria Union Of Journalist kwara state council.
Comrade Umar Abdulwahab garnered a total of 89 votes to defeat comrade Musa Babatunde Jimba who polled 33 votes.
Other members of the Union who were elected unopposed to run the affairs of the Kwara NUJ in the next three years includes Abdulateef Ahmed(State Auditor), Fadeyi Babajide (Financial Secretary),Babatunde Isiaka (Treasurer),Olayinka Alaya (Assistant Secretary) and Deacon Omotayo Ayanda (council secretary).
In an interview with Royal FM 95.1 shortly after taking his oath of office on thursday, the new chairman kwara council of Nigeria Union of Journalist comrade Umar Abdulwahab promise to unite the body of pen pushers in Kwara state .
