C’ River APC rejects conduct of another State Congress

written by Esther faroye August 27, 2018

CALABAR- THE leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State has rejected the conduct of another State Congress saying the exercise was shrouded in secrecy and in breach of the party’s Constitution. The State Chairman of the party, Mr Etim John in a statement made available to Vanguard on Monday in Calabar said there was a subsisting court order suspending the conduct of another congress in the state until the hearing of the substantive suit which is before an Abuja High Court. “The purported state Congress was shielded in secrecy and there was no sale of forms to contestants which is in total contravention of our party’s constitution therefore the exercise was a complete nullity”. John stated in the statement. He stated that prior to the congress, there was a stakeholders meeting where it was decided that the party as a law abiding body would obey the court order and not participate in any congress. “Therefore any congress by any one, group or agents remains a null and void and the party still intact under the leadership of Pastor Usani Usani and the State Chairman, Mr Etim John”. The statement calls on party supporters and faithful to disregard the congress and continue to work as one in support of President Mohammadu Buhari and his government.
