The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented a Certificates of Return to the winners of the 2019 presidential election President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
He was declared the winner of the presidential election in the early hours of Wednesday after he polled a total of fifteen million, one hundred and ninety-one thousand, eight hundred and forty-seven to defeat his closest rival and the PDP candidate, Atiku, who polled eleven million, two hundred and sixty-two thousand, nine hundred and seventy-eight.
Speaking shortly after receiving his Certificate of Return from the Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the president-elect said his victory as God-given, just as he described the process as free, fair and transparent. He cautioned his supporters not to taunt any member of the opposition parties.
While pledging to run an inclusive administration, PRESIDENT Buhari described his re-election as another opportunity to fulfill his pledge to continue to serve Nigerians, conscientiously.
